As we and many other Rhubarb Radio presenters have mentioned before, The Rainbow in Digbeth is facing some serious issues.
To put a long story short - one person has been complaining about supposed noise disturbance and the Environmental Protection Unit has put in a Noise Abatement Order on the Raibow, despite its long struggle to reach a sane compromise.
You can find all the details on the Facebook Group
On Friday, Kent Davis, landlord of the Rainbow gave a speech at the Rainbow commenting this situation. The whole story, including fragments of the speech and interviews will be featured on The Beat Suite this Wednesday night, 00.00-02.00.
It is not only us that have been supporting the case, a number of Rhubarb Radio presenters have got involved (however there is no official station-wide opinion on the matter as of yet) as well as about 20.000 other people (see the Facebook group).
The Beat Suite was at the Rainbow, covering the event, and you can find the recordings of the speech + interviews with supporters (including Brian Travers of UB40) below:

More info on the topic can be found here , here (some videos) and here as well as here. There's some more by the BBC and BRMB.
To be honest, pretty much everyone is talking about it and literally thousands of people agree that the situation is all a bit insane.
Let us know what you think about the issue and we'll air your opinions on this week's Beat Suite.
Fight the power!
