The Beat Suite Glitch Hop Awards 2009

Oh yes, The Beat Suite now have their own awards for something as well!

On tonight's episode of The Beat Suite we're having a very special feature. Since it's the first show of 2010 with both Skeleton & Dolhasz we've decided to sum up the last year of Glitch-Hop we've played.

We discussed the nominations together and after much debate we've come up with this tasty selection of the finest glitch-hop of 2009 [in our opinion, nothing more.] The rules of nomination were simple:

1. Only tunes released in 2009
2. Only tunes played on The Beat Suite
3. It's gotta be Glitch Hop

Interchill Records: Wicked psy-dub-glitch sounds, propper tweeked in many cases. The labels very diverse with artists such as Eat Static on the roster all the way to Vibe squaD, their most prolific sound however rests in warm dubwise beats. Liquid Stranger has some exceptionally well mastered productions that range from traditional heavy dub sounds to dubstep.. All with a psychedelic edge, just brilliant..

Bran Richards, Not Like The Fibre EP 06/01/2010

This outstanding Glitch Hop EP from Bran Richards on Addichtech Records is probably the best new release we've heard for months [Skeleton but probably Dolhasz as well]. In many ways minimal but in others ridiculosly fat and squelchy, this is his first release so look out for him in the future. A definate recomendation from The Beat Suite.
