28/10/09 MC Chaffinch & Lurch, also Dubstep Vs Breaks battle - Roskoe vs Skeleton

Yes people.. On the 28th October we have the pleasure of welcoming MC Chaffinch into the studio to provide some fresh rhymes over beats produced by Lurch.

We also have round two of the battle between Dubstep & Breaks: Roskoe from Dubstation will be selecting Dubstep tunes and Skeleton from Trigger will be dropping Breaks.. The rules are as follows: 8 tunes each, non of which have been previously played on Rhubarb Radio. There will be an online poll for listeners to select their winner.. Beat heads get in your corner!

Shadows Of The Empire Showcase 08/10/09

Shadows Of The Empire, the name says it all. This offshoot from the legendary drum n bass label Black Empire Recordings is a masterpiece in Dubstep Production. Skeleton mixed all four tracks from their two 12" releases together for The Beat Suites label showcase this week, standby for their third release coming very soon which we will play as soon as it has dropped.

Party Rockin Mammals and Cinephonic

The Beat Suite held it down at The Bull's Head, Moseley this gone Friday, alongside Mr Elephant's finest Marc Reck and VJ Blendstate and DJ Lopan from Sumo Soundsystem.
The vibe of the night was amazing, all thanks to the crowd, which was well up for a rave!

We'd like to thank all the supporters and everyone involved in any way and at the same time - we'd like to extend an invitation to Cinephonic #3. That's happening at The Hare & Hounds next Saturday. We will be playing alongside the legend that is Automaton (who's been on our show before) so if you're coming down, expect some head-nodders comin your way.

A big thankyou to Subcitizen who delivered a series of short mixes in various styles of electronica this week on The Beat Suite. It was a wicked selection of tunes that covered a serious amount of ground, spaning : electro/ dubstep/ IDM/ glitched up ragga and more. He also gave a quality interview giving an insight into the electronic world of Resistor Records.. Big up! Unfortunalty Dolhasz was ill and couldn't make it down to the studio so Skeleton held it down this week but never fear, Dolhasz will be back in the studio next week.. Peace
